There are a number of useful commands that can be run on Windows computers that are not so well known. So we are going to give you a few hints and tips which will prove very helpful when trying to get things to work!
We will kick off with 'ipconfig' which inspects the basic internet and network set up on your computer.
All these types of commands need to be run from a COMMAND PROMPT. If you don't have this as an icon, go to Start, Run, type in cmd and hit enter. You will be presented with a black screen. Then simply type in ipconfig and hit return. This will give you the network reference number that has been assigned and some other information. To look at a more detailed set of results type in ipconfig /all and return.
Once you want to return to the world of the glorious fyull specturm of colour and not get too nostalgic about those old terminals you once wondered what your folks used in the old days ;-) type in exit then return to... exit!
Enjoy!
